Litany - Social Productivity App

Welcome to Litany ("App," "Service," or "Platform"), operated by Chambey ("we," "us," "our," or "Company"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Litany mobile and web application, including all features, content, and services.

By downloading, accessing, or using Litany, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you may not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Litany is a personal productivity and social networking platform that enables users to:

  • Create and manage personal goals and tasks
  • Share progress through posts, comments, and engagement
  • Connect with other users through follows and social interactions
  • Create and manage lists and reminders
  • Receive notifications about progress, interactions, and reminders

2. Eligibility

To use Litany, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction)
  • Have the legal authority to enter into these Terms
  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Parental Consent: If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms. Parents/guardians can request account deletion by contacting us at safety@litany.world.

3. User Accounts

Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

Accurate Information: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep this information updated. Providing false information may result in account suspension or termination.

Account Security: You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any security breach. We are not responsible for unauthorized access to your account if you have failed to protect your password.

4. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

As a Litany user, you agree that you will NOT:

Child Safety & Exploitation

  • Create, distribute, or possess child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Engage in grooming, exploitation, or abuse of minors
  • Solicit personal information from minors for harmful purposes
  • Share, request, or distribute any content sexualizing minors

Harassment & Abuse

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate any user
  • Send unsolicited or harassing messages or comments
  • Impersonate or falsely represent yourself as another person
  • Stalk, dox, or reveal private information about others

Illegal & Harmful Content

  • Share illegal content or content that promotes illegal activities
  • Post content promoting violence, self-harm, or suicide
  • Share hateful content, discrimination, or incitement based on protected characteristics
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Share content promoting terrorism or extremism

Fraud & Deception

  • Engage in fraud, phishing, or scam activities
  • Deceive others to solicit money, information, or personal items
  • Sell or promote illegal goods or services
  • Engage in multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes

Intellectual Property

  • Infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or patents
  • Share copyrighted content without authorization
  • Plagiarize or use others' work without attribution

Spam & Abuse

  • Post spam, advertising, or promotional content (except where permitted)
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages or comments
  • Engage in bot-like behavior or artificial engagement manipulation
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

System Abuse

  • Attempt to access unauthorized areas of the App
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Interfere with the functioning of the App or servers
  • Circumvent security measures or rate limits

Privacy Violations

  • Share others' private information without consent
  • Collect or track personal data without permission
  • Violate others' privacy or confidentiality

5. Content Ownership & Rights

Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to content you create (goals, tasks, posts, comments). By posting content on Litany, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content for providing and improving the Service.

Public Content: Any content marked as public or posted in public areas becomes visible to other users. You are responsible for what you share publicly.

Third-Party Content:Other users' content remains their property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use others' content without permission.

Our Content: All Litany trademarks, logos, text, graphics, and other materials are the property of Chambey or its licensors. You may not use our intellectual property without written permission.

6. Content Moderation & Enforcement

Right to Remove Content: We reserve the right to remove, disable, or restrict any content that violates these Terms or our policies, without prior notice when necessary.

Reporting Violations: Users can report content violations through:

Moderation Process: We will investigate reported content and take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Removing violative content
  • Suspending or terminating user accounts
  • Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement
  • Implementing account restrictions or bans

7. Account Suspension & Termination

We May Suspend or Terminate Your Account If You:

  • Violate these Terms or our policies
  • Engage in harmful, illegal, or abusive behavior
  • Create child safety risks or engage in exploitation
  • Repeatedly violate content policies
  • Use the App fraudulently or for illegal purposes
  • Fail to verify your age or account information

Immediate Termination: We may immediately terminate accounts without notice for severe violations including: CSAM, threats to minors, or illegal activity.

Warning & Appeal: For less severe violations, we may provide a warning before suspension. You may appeal account suspensions by contacting safety@litany.world.

Account Deletion: You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion, personal information is removed within 30 days.

8. Limitation of Liability

AS-IS SERVICE:Litany is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your expectations.

NO WARRANTIES: We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

LIMITED LIABILITY: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chambey will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Litany, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chambey, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your use of the App, (c) content you create, or (d) any illegal activity conducted through your account.

10. Third-Party Links & Services

Litany may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

11. DMCA & Copyright Notices

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed on Litany, you may submit a DMCA notice to safety@litany.world including:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work
  • Location of the infringing content on Litany
  • Your contact information and signature
  • Statement that you have good faith belief the use is not authorized

We will investigate and remove infringing content when appropriate. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

12. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution: If you have a dispute with Chambey, please contact us at safety@litany.world and attempt to resolve the issue informally before pursuing legal action.

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any legal action must be brought in the appropriate jurisdiction.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and notify you through the App or email.

Your continued use of Litany after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with changes, you may delete your account.
